Pete's True Story
I was hunting up in northern Minnesota. It was opening day and I was
sitting in my stand from 6:00am to 3:00pm. Mt feet were starting to get
frost bite. They were so bad I had them bare on the grate of my Mr.
Heater cooker in my stand, when my buddy Paul was coming and ready to
leave for the truck. We got back around 4:30. We were going to find my
dad so we dropped our packs off at the truck, loaded my 270, and went
out walking. We came upon a marsh which looked dinomite for deer
beds. We scared out 3 doe, then we walked just about 200 yards
further and we heard crashing. I turned around and there ran a 210lbs, 9
piont buck. It was only 15 yards away. I brought up my gun, got it on
his shoulder, took the shot, and knocked him down tumbling end over end.
This was the biggest buck I've ever seen, and this was only
my second year hunting, so my dad was pretty proud. It will make a good mount,
for my wall.
