Todd's True Story

It was hunting season 1993. Me and my dad were hunting in the woods behind my Uncle's house. We had hunted all morning, then had gone home and returned at about 2:30 in the afternoon. We were in the woods for about an hour or so. I had my head turned looking to my right. I was looking at a chipmunk when I heard a crunching in front of me. I turned my head as slow as I could trying to make as least possible noise was possible. It's incredible how much noise you make with the slightest movement in the woods. I looked directly in front of me to see a big fat doe grazing about 65 yards in front of me. I raised my 20. gauge shotgun. As the doe raised it's head, it took one step forward, and I pulled the trigger. With my one open eye I saw her fall in her tracks. I climbed down the stand I had been in and went up to see my first kill ever. Five minutes later my dad came and saw the deer. He told me he had also been aiming at a deer when I shot mine. He went back into the woods as I dressed out my deer. 10 minutes later I heard a shot from where my dad had gone back in. Half an hour later he dragged out the 8 pointer he had shot. All in all, it was a very productive day.
