Jonathan Repp purchased 80
acres of land on 4 Dec. 1826 from the land office in Vincennes, IN. This land was described as being on the west
half of the south west quarter of section thirteen in township three north of
range two west in the district of land offered for sale at Vincennes, IN.
Jonathan D. Repp in the
1880 census of Texas states that his parents were born in Germany. I don't believe that his mother Mary was
born in Germany but it's possible that his father Jonathan may have been born
in Germany. I can't seem to find out
any more information about Jonathan.
There were other Repp families in the Indiana area that they come from
but I'm having a hard time connecting them all. The other Repp families do not show that any of them were born in
Germany. I have not been able to find
out the names of the rest of the children of Jonathan and Mary although from
census records they had at least 8 children.

Susan is reported to have 2 children, both living, well she has 3

Susan (Hicks) Repp's first
husband died in the Civil War. Jonathan
Repp's first wife, in Indiana, Susan Chastain, died in childbirth with their
son Pleasant Allen Repp. Jonathan left
this son in Indiana with his wife's parents and disappeared. I have not been able to find him on the 1860
census but he was in Texas by 1862 to join the CSA.

Susan Repp applied for a
widow's pension in Wells, TX and was approved on 26 Sept. 1908. In the application we find Jonathan's death
date. She says that Jonathan enlisted
in Nacogdoches, TX sometime during 1862 and was discharged at the end of the
war in 1865. When asked the name of his
regiment Susan replied that she did not know, he served in the infantry. Copies of muster rolls shows that Jonathan
served in the 12th TX Inf., Co. G, Young's Brigade, as a private. Witnesses to the fact that Susan Repp was
indeed the widow of Jonathan were W. N. Beasley and W. R. Ellerbee. Witnesses to the fact that Jonathan Repp did
serve in the war were Geo. C. Ingraham and F. H. Hoya, they both served with
Jonathan during the war. They state
though that co. and regt. were Co. G, 8th TX Inf.

George W. Repp, 69, of
Green River, Wyoming , died on January 10, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of
Sweetwater County in Rock Springs after a sudden illness.
He was born May 8, 1934, in
Huntington, Texas, the son of William J. Repp and Bonnie Irene
Schritchfield. He attended schools in
Brazosport, Texas, and graduated with the class of 1952 from Brazosport High
School. He married Betty Jo Archie in
1953, and lived in the Brazosport area for 13 years. During this time he served as President of the Local Machinists
Union. He married Tammy Taylor of
Rawlins, Wyoming, in 1975.
He was employed at FMC for
10 years until his retirement in 2000.
He was a service field representative for various companies. During this time, he was a member of the
Civil Air Patrol.
Survivors include his wife,
Tammy Taylor of Green River, Wyoming; two sons, Steve Repp & wife, Sandy,
of Connersville, Indiana, and Andrew Repp of Green River, Wyoming; two
daughters and sons-in law, Candy Childs & husband, Rick, of Fort Collins,
Colorado, and Wendy Copley & husband, Brayden, of Denver, Colorado; three
sisters, Jean Giese & husband, Leon, of Lake Jackson, Betty Keith &
husband, Earl, of Clute, and Linda Rooks & husband, Gary, of Surfside;
seven grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He is preceded in death by
his parents; first wife, Betty Jo Archie; and one brother, Robert Repp.
Funeral services were
conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at Green River LDS Stake
