Spells for Wealth and Success
TRADITIONAL WITCHCRAFT
1. A HOLLYHOCK SPELL, FOR RICHES
The Hollyhock blooms in Summer,
Its seeds in Autumn fall:
Then, in a folded paper,
Save them, gather them all--
The loose seeds,
The brown seeds,
The dry seeds,
The round seeds,
The seeds like tarnished pennies
That pay for the blossoms tall;
Bury their rusty treasure
Next to a southern wall--
With a mint coin,
An ancient coin,
A silver coin,
A copper coin:
By Spring your wealth shalt measure
Twelve times this sowing small.
2. TO OBTAIN A PARTICULAR APPOINTMENT OR POSITION
When night has fallen fully,
Raise one candle's fire
And write on virgin paper
All that you desire;
If any man can aid you,
There inscribe his name,
Followed by these others
For Power, Skill, and Fame:
HELIMAZ
FERIDOX
SOLADAR
Brush every word thereon
With a ragged crust of bread;
Then shred the paper, soak it
In water tinted red;
Wring it, press it small
As a lump of sodden dough--
Fling it from the house
As far as it will go.
3. TALISMAN FOR JOURNEY
To be sped on your way with winged heels, also to be kept
safe the while from all distress and accident, you must cover
a new silver coin with fluid Quick-silver: this well-spread,
smoothed over all the surface until the two are bound and the
coin shines extremely. Then with these words embellish a
square of white cloth:
ARGENTUM VIVUM,
CLIPEUS ORNATUS,
ARGENTUM SIGNATUM,
MERCURIUS ARGENTEUS:
TEGE, TEGE, TEGE.
Wrap the coin closely in the cloth, and tie it up with red
thread. Carry this with you wherever you travel, but take
care not to unfold the cloth nor look upon the coin again--
lest you should break the enchancement, thus to find only a
gray relic where the twice-shining silver hidden.
4. RITUAL FOR MONEY
Sit cross-legged on the floor. Burn incense throughout
the ritual. Take a piece of silver(half-dollar) and wrap it
in a piece of orange paper. Orange is the color of attraction.
Set it before you on the floor. Stand two green candles, one
on each side of the money, and light them. Burn High John
incense. Concentrate on the wrapped silver and see in your
mind's eye the silver multiplying. See it piling up, one coin
on top of another. After a few minute of this concentration,
say the following:
When the grey owlet has three times hoo'd
When the grinning cat has three times mewed,
When the toad has croaked three times in the wood,
At the red of the moon may this money be good.
Sit for a few minutes and concentrate further on the
silver multiplying. Repeat the incantation again and then a
third time. Blow out the candles--first the left and then
the right. Repeat this ritual every Wednesday for three weeks.
