Raised on a steady diet of cartoons and breakfast cereals......"Johnny Popular"

It all started when four bored music geeks decided to write some songs.
They created a musical blend, a blend of punk/funk/rap/rock/ska and
whatever else they felt like playing at the time.

Established in September of 1995, the band has played around the
greater Toronto area for two years, and are looking to expand there ever
growing fan base. They have recorded two successful independent
albums, both of which are getting radio play on local College and University stations.

The first album, My Friend Adam, was recorded in April of 1996, and
was released under the name "Mr. Kazoo and the Fabulous Blender
Children". The single from this album was Y-O-Y (did you have to be a
lesbian) "
(UNPLUGGED VERSION) was the most requested song on Ryerson Radio for an entire weekend.
Other songs, such as "Me" and "Fantasy World" also were regular rotation on local College stations.

The second album, which is self-titled Johnny Popular, is a mix of
the various musical styles that the band creates themselves.
It was recorded from September to January 96/97. The
lengthy recording time was due to the restricted availability
of the studio. It was recorded at "Finest Hour " studio in Toronto.

Johnny Popular writes song which are stories, letting lyrics come into their
head and out of their mouths at the spur of the moment. They don't waste their
time with pointless deep poetry. The songs are written about topics that the
everyday listener can relate to i.e. girls, girls, and the common need to go egging
on Halloween.

The band consists of the "shaggy haired, sideburned guitar playing" CHRIS KETTLEWELL,
at the mic because he loves it, singer DAN MORGAN, the "head-
banging, bass beater" BRANDON ANDERSON, and rounding up the line up is
"the man with the rhythm," JEFFERS LENNOX.

Johnny Popular has played many shows, and has played with established
bands such as D.F.S. (Popular Records), Tristan Psionic and The New Grand
(Sonic Unyon) and Marilyn's Vitamens (Raw Energy). The band finished first at
a Supernova battle of the bands, which helped pay for the second album.
