Ghim is a dwarf who arrives at Slayn's doorstep before the goblin raid. He is gruff, taciturn and, of course, stubborn, as dwarves go. Old and experienced, Ghim's nasty attitude is enough to take down the hardiest foe.
Ghim was saved by Neese, the high priestess of Marfa, in a mining accident. Soon after his recovery, Leylia, the Neese's daughter, disappears. Seven years later Ghim sets out to find her, and on his journey he stops by the house of his old friend, Slayn. It is here that he finds Parn, and he sees the potential Parn has to become a great warrior. Having no idea where to search for Leylia, Ghim decides to stay with Parn for the meantime in order to shape him into a better man.
As the adventure progresses, Ghim's expertise becomes apparent as he methodically slaughters their foes. He is often at odds with Deed, for their is no love lost between elves and dwarves. For all his gruff exterior, however, Ghim has a soft spot in his heart for his travelling companions, in particular the young warrior, Parn, and the elven maiden, Deed (although he would never admit it). Soon, however, the perils on their road will test his mind and body as he strives to finish his quest...
