My Father, A Vietnam Vet

This page is dedicated to my daddy:
Arnold A. Hermes
A Vietnam Vet who served proudly between 68'-70'.

Let me tell a little bit about my dad.

Mt father served in Vietnam between 1968-1970. My father enlisted, he wasn't drafted. He was an engineer but was TDY'd (loaned out) to other outfits. He did patrol of bridges, search and destroy missions and also worked the mine fields.

My father saw and did a lot in Vietnam and unfortunately did not come back the same. He suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and another disorder. He was also sprayed in Vietnam with Agent Orange, in which he aslo suffers from the effects of that.

I am very proud of who and what my dad is and has become. After my dad returned home, my mom married my father and they have been married for 32 years. My mom has stayed by my fathers' side and not once complained of the things they had to go through after he came home. It has been a very long road, but without the help of my mom, I don't feel my dad would still be here.

Like I said, I am very proud of my dad and since I am "daddy's little girl", I wanted him to know just how I felt and that no matter what, I will always be my Dad's "Little Girl."
