There's not much I can say about this product that hasn't already been raved about. It rocks. MUSICIAN MAGAZINE said "ACID makes it almost obscenely easy to create music", well, MUSICAN MAGAZINE is wrong, because IT IS obscenely easy to produce music with this program. ACID is the type of music production software that is revolutionary. It easily disguises the amateur artist as a professional musician. The royalty-free loops provided on ACID are really awesome, and what I feel is the real true sure-fire energy of the SONIC FOUNDRY Company. The people behind this software basically thought of everything! They cover all the genres of musical sound to appease any musical terrorist. ACID takes down so many of the music production barriers the musician has to fight with from traditional forms of recording music. It knocks out a lot of the stress one has to put forth due to the tedious job of maintaining proper music flow and sound (the program actually formats the tempo and key to coincide with one another) It saves you time and money. Think of the free studio time you'll be having by doing it yourself in the comfort of your own home, without people basically monitoring you and interfering with the sound your looking for (except maybe family members, but your used to that anyhow) ACID brings the recording artist a package full of fun. I recommend this particular version of ACID for amateurs, and the professionals out there will probably want to pick up the ACID PRO version.

This latest version from the legendary BAND IN A BOX series delivers, with plenty of new goodies (check out http://www.pgmusic.com for details - PG MUSIC really back this program, it even comes with a thick user manual for you reader types) This has everything! I am impressed - and I'm just tip of the iceberg. There are many great functions about BIAB9 to rave about, but hey, I'd rather be composing music with the program than writing this review, so I'll give you a quick lick. This program is one heck of a song generator! For instance, you pick a style of music, and input some keys through your MIDI input or type them in on the user-friendly display, and it will provide you with virtually a complete song (it's up to you to put in your unique musical touch to a musical composition) With BIAB9, you're in total control of a virtual band that plays on time, any time you wanna rock with the computer, obeying your orders! Cool, eh? It's like collaborating with other musicians of basically any style of music you can think of to create music. Great for amateurs or professionals - whether for practicing or jamming along with, recording or experimenting purposes. What I really appreciate about BIAB9 is how you can render MIDI files you've created using the program into WAV files, which makes this a great software addition to compliment your other musical software/workstations. I recommend this goes on your musical programs to purchase hit list.
