1000 years in the past, Prince Darien and Princess Serena were going to be married, but the evil forces of the Negaverse attacked the Moon Kingdom where Princess Serena and Queen Serenity lived. Prince Darien of Earth, and the planet princess warriors fought against Queen Beryl and her minions, but they all died in the end. Queen Serenity sent their reincarnations to earth 1000 years in the future by the Silver Imperium Crystal, leaving them with no memory of their past. Serena's guardian black cat, Luna, helps Serena, Raye, Lita, and Amy remember that they are sailor scouts of their respective planets. When Serena and Darien learn each other's secret identity and find the Silver Imperium Crystal, everyone in Serena's court gets their memories back about the past, which leads to the battle against Queen Beryl.

All the people involved with the destruction of Queen Beryl lived as normal people, not remembering what occurred in the past. The Negaverse sent new minions to Earth: Alan and Ann. They are two good aliens who were transformed into evil people by the Negaverse. They came to Earth to save their "Doom Tree," and finally are healed with Sailor Moon's Moon Scepter. Darien gets his memory back in the last episode of Sailor Moon R Part 1, and he gets back together with Serena again.

Sailor Moon R (Part 2)

Alan and Ann are gone, but now the future dark moon of the Negaverse- the Negamoon, comes into our present day. Darien gets frightening dreams that if he stays with Serena,she would die, so he decides to break up with her. Rubeus and the four sisters are trying to destroy the future city of Crystal Tokyo by taking over crystal points around in the present day Tokyo. They also try to capture Rini, in hopes of retrieving the Silver Imperium Crystal. The four sisters are healed by Sailor Moon and Rubeus dies in his exploding ship. Emerald, Sapphire, and Prince Diamond are introduced later and their mission is to open the black gate and corrupt earth. The Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask make many trips into the future and they learn they are the future parents of Rini. The Doom Phantom captured Rini and corrupted her into Wicked Lady, a grown up evil form of herself. Serena (as Neo Queen Serenity) and Darien convince her that they love her and she turns back to normal. Serena and Darien finally do get back together and All of the Sailor Scouts defeat the Doom Phantom together.
