Ally and his high
school sweetheart Billy Allan Thomas had been on and off since they were
7, and decided to go to law school together. They study in Harvard, until
Ally made the law review and Billy didn't, so Billy traveled to another
law school, where he met his future wife, Georgia. Many years later, Ally,
because of extreme circumstances, had to transfer to a firm started by
a friend from law school, Richard Fish. When Richard introduced her to
the new colleagues, there he was... the same Billy Allan Thomas. When Ally
finally got a chance to talk to Billy, she inagined herself being shot
by arrows. Later, she also met her other colleagues, the weird John Cage
and the attention seeking Elaine Vassal.
The storylines are
one of the best parts of this show because there is always a new plot in
every show. No-one ever gets bored watching this show because of the high
quality writing by DEK. I am writing this page now on a few days after
"The Inmates", and just to comment on the writing, I watched the episode
over 3 times. Overall this is one of the best shows on TV and I hope it
is not one of the shows that survives only a few seasons. Rating:
*****!!
The practice is a gritty drama also set in Boston in a firm called "Donnel & associates".
I don't know much about this show but I thought all the actors performed very well in "Inmates/ The Axe Murderer" episode. Since I don't like gritty drama shows, I won't watch this show any further but I will keep an eye out for Dylan McDermott, who plays Robert Donnell in the show. The show deserved all the recognition it got from the critics.
From what I saw
in the one and a bit shows I've seen, "D & A" is a firm that needs
repainting. Criminal lawyers, the partners are lawyers who are prepared
to get their hands "dirty" in big murder cases. Headed by Bobby Donnel
(The YUMMY Dylan McDermott), the show is slightly more dramatic and scary.
Their motto is "Serve clients and betray all".
Rating: (I've
only seen the show once but-) **** (Three stars for Dylan McDermott)
