Thank you for the knowledge
That you have given me
The ability to look around
And learn about all I see
You taught me how to question
How to discover why
And where to find the answers
Wherever they may lie.
I asked you how a motor works
You helped me discover how
I was fascinated by a bird in flight
And I know the name of it now
A caterpillar upon a leaf --
Look at the brown and red !
I wondered what kind of butterfly it'd be
"Science books" was what you said
We planted seeds when I wanted to
And played house when I was small
You listened to my questions
And helped me answer them all. |
You tantalized my curiosity
You sparked my desire to learn
I thank you for the tools you've given me
And now it is MY turn.
I shall make a difference
And it is all because of you
You've given me courage and inspiration
And to myself I shall be true.

Children need guidance to learn how to think and
question on their own...
The world is at their finger tips if they know
to look for it.
By playing with them, helping them explore their
world, helping them find the answers to their questions, we give them the
tools to make it in this world, to become the best they can be, and to
be confident in who they are.
