2000
- This year sees the emergence of two offical websites
supported by Too Short. SHORTRECORDS.COM as well
as his site at ARTISTSDIRECT.COM. (He even registered
the domain YOUNASTY.COM) He claims to maintain the
closest ties with the Artistdirect site. The new
album "You
Nasty"
drops in September. Too Short stays in the studio,
the famous BLUE STUDIO built in the basement
of his home, to put in work on several new projects.
2000 is also the year that NAPSTER takes full
force stirs up controversy. Attempts are made to
ban it due to the fact the MP3 sharing reaches astronomical,
and records companies fear loss of large revenues
through claims of lost sales income. Many artists
express anger towards NAPSTER and fans who are 'stealing'
their music.
Later
this year he drops the second in the NATIONWIDE
series, "Nationwide
2: Ghetto Pass: The Compilation"
an album that came hot on the heals of the nasty
album. As a further surprise in 2000, the first
video release from Too Short since 1995, came "Too
Short Nationwide: Behind the scenes UNCENSORED."
On
Christmas Day 2000, TSHQ
launches it's new look as well as heaps more by
way of contents, providing even more for the Too
Short fan.
2001
This year was just as productive as previous years.
The UNCENSORED
video is released on DVD format - the new first
for Too Short - featuring a 10 minute trailer beginning
from the still to come TITTY CITY video. This years'
album is "Chase
The Cat", which drops just before
Christmas. The other big news is that TSHQ takes
the next step; after nearly five years of free hosting
on ANGELFIRE.COM,
it is time for TSHQ to claim its own piece of the
.com pie. TSHQ is launched on www.dontstoprappin.com.
