1972 - The low-budget film THE MACK is released, about the pimps and hustlers of Oakland. A graphic portrayal of life on the streets, it was also a study in the subjects of self-awareness, taking control of one's destiny and acheiving goals. It's message was clear "Pimpin's big business, and it's been goin' on since the begining of time. And it's gonna continue, straight ahead, until somebody up there turns the lights out on this small planet."

 

Funk had introduced the VOCODER (Voice Operated reCOrDER) and the whining Synths.
