On Saturday, June 13, 1998, at 10am, I departed Boston's South Station on Amtrak, headed west to Los Angeles, CA. I arrived in California on Tuesday morning at 7am. I had a 3 hour lay-over in New York, and a 4 hour lay-over in Chicago. I really enjoyed traveling by train, and look forward to doing it in the future. I headed up to Bristol Bay in the southwestern region of Alaska where I worked at Nelbro Packing. When I left Alaska, Nelbro flew me back to Seattle, WA on Alaska Airlines. Upon arriving in Seattle, I boarded Amtrak again, and headed south, towards Los Angeles. When I arrived in Los Angeles, I found out that my train to Orlando, FL was running late. I was supposed to leave LA at 10pm, however, we left the depot at 8am the following morning. The train I was on, the Sunset Limited, experienced many more delays along our journey. We were supposed to be at our final destiation of Orlando on Friday at 3pm. We were so far behind schedule that when the train pulled into the station in New Orleans on Friday at 8:30pm, Amtrak decided to terminate our train there. They offored me two nights, all meals provided weekend at the Ramada Presidential. I did not refuse.
