Chapter 6
After a twenty-minute car ride, they arrived at the restaurant. As soon as they set foot in the restaurant, they were told where to sit. They sat all the way in the back in a half circle booth. About two minutes later, the waiter came and took their orders.
The food came and Nick and Abby were flirting like crazy with each other. Brian and Chrissy just talked.
When the night ended, Brian took Abby home. When Abby got out of the car, Nick followed her.
“Have fun tonight?” Nick asked. Abby nodded.
"I’m glad,” he smiled. Abby stepped closer to Nick and played with the collar of his shirt. He just smiled.
“Who took the bill?” Abby smiled. Nick shrugged.
“45 bucks! Pay up!” Abby giggled putting her hand out. Nick dug his hand into his pocket and pulled out $45.
“Forget anything?” Abby grinned.
“I dunno...are we?” Nick asked with the same grin. Abby giggled and kissed Nick on the cheek and walked off. Nick grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a sweet kiss. Abby wrapped her arms around Nick’s neck and his around her waist. Slowly, they pulled away.
“See you tomorrow,” Abby said. Nick gave her one more kiss and she smiled and closed the door to her house. Nick had a big smile on his face. He climbed back into the car and sighed happily.
“Woooo! Go Nick!!” Brian cheered.
“Shut up!” Nick blushed. Suddenly, Nick got a pang of excitement run through his body. “Yes! I’m seeing her tomorrow!” He thought with a smile.
In the middle of the night a few weeks later Nick bolted straight up from his deep sleep. He heard a pitter-patter on his window and head thunder then saw a crackle of lightening. He lay back down and stared at his ceiling thinking of his 2-week girlfriend Abby.
Abby was wide-awake. Ever since it started pouring outside she hadn’t slept. She never liked storms and most of all, she hated being in them alone. She kept wishing she were with Nick at that moment.
Soon, she couldn’t take it anymore. She was scared to death and didn’t want to be alone. So she climbed out her window and ran to Nick’s house.
After twenty minutes of Nick staring at his ceiling, he closed his eyes. Suddenly he heard a knock on his window. His eyes jolted open and he looked over and saw Abby. He jumped out of bed and opened the window for her.
“Abby!” He said just above a whisper. Abby was crying and shivering as well. Nick hugged her tightly and stroked her hair telling her everything was okay. He kissed her sweetly. [Note: Dani don’t comment!!!!!!!! Tee-hee!] She kissed him back and then slowly pulled away. She sat down on his bed. Nick sat next to her and hugged her. Abby ran her fingers up and down Nick’s back, slightly using her nails. Nick shivered and then smiled at her. I bet you can guess what they did that night. ;)
