Chapter 6

“Hey, you wanna go outside and play basketball?” Nick asked.

“Sure,” Julia answered. “But I think you should get dressed.”

“Yeah no shit!” Nick laughed. Jane glared at Nick.

“Sorry mom,” Nick sighed. Jane smiled. Nick ran upstairs and got dressed. Julia smiled and sat down and talked with Jane until Nick came thumping down the stairs.

“Ready to play?” Nick asked.

“Yup, and I’ll still kick your Backstreet butt!” Julia laughed. Nick laughed. The walked outside and Nick got his basketball. Julia stole it, shot and made a basket. After their game, which lasted about an hour, Nick was whining again. Julia was laughing so hard.

“You’re gonna pay...” Nick grinned.

“No! Nick! Not that!” Julia said. Nick picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. Julia screamed. Nick was laughing. He walked into the kitchen with Julia over his shoulder.

“Nicky? Did she beat you?” Jane teased.

“Yes! And this is the consequence for beating me!” Nick laughed. Julia slapped his butt. Nick jumped and began laughing.

“Nicky! Put my down! I do not like what I see!” Julia laughed. Nick put her down.

“Ohhhh!! You’re gonna get it!” Julia said. Nick began running. Julia chased him. Nick ran outside and Julia followed. Nick ran onto the grass but tripped. He turned over and stood up. Julia tackled him.

“HA!” She laughed. Julia sat up and Nick just smiled. Julia realized that the way she was sitting on him was not the best thing to do. She began to get up but Nick pulled her back down and kissed her on the lips. Julia pulled away from him quickly.

“Nick? What are you doing?” Julia asked.

“Shhh...” Nick said. He silenced her with his lips once more. Julia didn’t stop him.

“Nick! You have a phone call!” Jane yelled from the house. As soon as Julia and Nick heard Jane’s voice they broke apart as fast as possible.

“Stay here,” Nick whispered. He kissed her on the lips once more than ran inside to get the phone. Julia lay on the grass and smiled.

“Mom...I think I love Julia!” Nick sighed happily.

“I figured, you two were flirting like crazy!” Jane smiled. Nick blushed.

“Go for it Nick. I see how she looks at you. She feels the same,” Jane smiled. Nick hugged his mom and ran outside again. Julia was still on the grass. Nick walked over then stood over her looking down. Julia put her hands up in the air and Nick tried to help her up.

“Nick, I don’t wanna stand up!” Julia laughed.

“Oh!” Nick said hitting his forehead. He got on his knees and kissed Julia again. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Nick picked her up and carried her to the hammock.

“You’ll tip it again,” Julia giggled. Nick laughed. He let Julia lie on the hammock as he kneeled next to her. Main Story Page | Chapter 7
