"Man, I DO NOT want to ever take that work-out course AGAIN." Bo muttered.
"See, when it comes to working-out, girls are far more talented." Alicia said.
"Speak for yourself." Shirley groaned, "That was the heaviest aerobics work-out I ever did!"
"Who cares about aerobics? I HAD to lift weights!" Bo said. Alicia, Shirley, and Bo had signed up for the get in shape program at Redington community center. It sounded like a good program, but when they actually DID the course, it was awfully tiring. At least it was to Bo and Shirley. Alicia seemed fine. "Well, let's go to the work-out room, one of my friends who's only 14 is there, her sister got a job here! And.....I'll let her tell it for herself." Alicia said brightly.
" Count me out." BO said
"Yeah, count me out too." Shirley agreed "Oh COME on you two! Okay, just meet my friend, then you guys can leave." Alicia said. BO and Shirley just rolled their eyes and agreed to this. The trio went to the work-out room. A girl about Shirley's height walked over to them. "Alicia! It's good to see you!" the girl said. She had long light brown hair, and blue eyes. Shirley observed that she looked like a rich girl by appearance. Her clothes were all designer, she looked really in shape too. Shirley glanced at Bo to see what he thought. Bo looked like he wasn't even there. He seemed to be floating. Shirley rolled her eyes and holding out her hand said to the girl, "Hi, I'm Shirley Holmes."
" Hi, I'm Ashleigh Cooper. And you are?" She was looking at Bo. "Uh, I'm Bo Sawchuck, please to meet you."
"The pleasures all mine." Ashleigh said starring into his eyes. Alicia grinned and nudged Shirley, "Awwww, isn't that sweet?"
"Uh huh, whatever." Shirley answered. She touched Bo's arm, and said "Let's go."
"I'm working-out remember?" Bo said, looking straight into her eyes, daring her to contradict. Shirley glared back. Alicia broke in, "let's get out of here Shirley." Alicia pulled Shirley's arm, and they walked off. Shirley turned her head to look at Bo one more time, and saw him talking with Ashleigh. She sighed and continued walking.
THe next day, Bo ran up to Shirley. "Hey, I tried to call you yesterday, but all I got was a busy signal." "I was on the internet." Shirley said "oh, well, you won't believe this, Ashleigh just moved here, and she's going to Sussex!" BO said with a smile " Isn't that nice." Shirley said. They started to walk to class. She bent down to tie her shoe. "So Bo, when Ashleigh comes, will you ditch me so you could be her science partner? Like the time you ditched me for Catherine?" Shirley asked with a nasty tone in her voice. Bo shifted and looked upset. "Hey Shirley, we are growing up, you can't expect me to be your partner for life you know." Bo said angrily. Shirley was about to answer when Ms. Strattmen interrupted. "Oh Miss. Holmes? I would like you to show a new girl around Sussex. Her name is Ashleigh Cooper, and she will be in most of your classes." She continued, "I expect you to be nice to her." With Shirley starring at her with her mouth hanging open, Ms. Strattmen walked off and called over her shoulder, "She'll arrive tomorrow" SHirley looked fairly upset, she certainly didn't want the girl that Bo fell heads over heels for to be stuck with her. Shirley felt overwhelmed with emotion, but she knew she was being selfish. What about the time she was infatuated over Matt? Bo didn't act so selfishly. And she knew he was right. They had grown up. She had to let Ashleigh and Bo......be together. That afternoon, Shirley was scheduled for another "Get in Shape" course, she was sort of dreading it, but apparantly Bo wasn't. He had fussed with his looks, and it was driving her NUTS. He kept looking at his reflection.
"Bo, must you always, always look at yourself?"
"Uh, no, but you know why."
"Yeah." Shirley answered resentingly. Alicia hurried up to Shirley and Bo. " You'll never guess what, Ashleigh was-----" Alicia was interrupted by Bo.
"WHAT HAPPENED." He had a really worried look on his face.
"I was going to tell you before I was so rudely interrupted. She's missing. She was just moving into sussex when it happened. She's gone."
