Kayla sat at a table with Nick at her side. Her father was facing them. He had a huge grin on his face. His little girl looked so happy with this boy. He was happy. He smiled at the thought that maybe this boy could be the one he had been waiting to come into Kaylas life. The one who would marry her and make her happy for her lifetime. He wanted that more then ever for his little girl. “So you guys.. Do I hear wedding bells?” He dropped the question so quickly. Kay began to choke and Nick spat out his pop, which hit Kay’s father in the face.
“Marriage?” Kay choked out.
“What are you talking about?” Nick said at the same time.
“Well I just thought that maybe... because you look so happy together... I was just hoping...” He tried to explain the question as he wiped off his face.
“Dad look if I was getting married to Nick we would have told you but Nick and I have barely kissed.” Kay explained.
“Okay then...” Her father replied.
They ate the rest of their meals in silence. When the bill came, both Nick and Kayla’s father reached for it. “That’s okay Nick, I’ll pay for it. This was my treat.” Kay’s father said.
Kayla’s father went home in Kayla’s car, Nick and Kay decided to go and sit on the beach to talk. They sat there, in each others arms, looking out at the ocean. “It’s so beautiful Nick” she said.
“Yeah it is..” Nick said as his voice trailed off.
“Can you believe my father suggested we get married?” Kay said as she looked up into Nicks blue eyes.
“Yeah.. I mean he was acting like we made a perfect couple! It has been like two months since we met.” Nick laughed.
“Yeah when you saved me. I will never forget that day.” Kayla sighed. “If it wasn’t for you I probably would have died.”
“Someone else would have saved you. A girl as pretty as you won’t be let go of. Any guy would have done it.” Nick said.
“Why do you always say that? I wouldn’t have wanted any other guy to save me!” Kayla said as she pushed him a bit.
“Why?” he asked looking down at her.
“BECAUSE I LOVE YOU STUPID!” she screamed then giggled.
“You what?” Nick said. He was so shocked. It was a dream come true to be loved by this incredibly beautiful girl.
“I love you!” Kayla repeated.
“You really mean that?”
“Yes I wouldn’t have said it otherwise..” She laughed.
“I love you too, Kay” He said. Then he leand down and kissed her. Kay returned the kiss fully.
“Oh Nick..” Kayla sighed when the kiss ended.
“I love you so much..” He said as he turned her in his arms and kissed her again. Her body came to life as she returned the kiss. “... I won’t ever stop loving you” He kissed her again. The kisses were getting deeper and deeper. He pulled her onto his lap and she kissed him passionately.
She felt as though she would burst with happiness. Nick pulled her closer, as if it were possible. There wasn’t any space between them. They could feel each others quickening heartbeats.
Suddenly Kayla pulled away and got up. Nick looked up at her confused. He looked like a hurt puppy. She took his hand and led him to his car. As they walked to the car, she whispered “Lets go to your house...”
