Chapter 28: Babies, Marriage and Love

AJ lay next to Camille watching her sleep. She looked like an angel. He thought back to the day before when Nick and Kayla had announced their engagement. They looked so happy. He was happy for them. He was happy too, laying here with her in his arms. Camille had put on a few pounds, he could tell. He smiled at the thought that inside of her grew his child. It made her even more special to him.

Camille opened her eyes and looked up at AJ. “How long have you been watching me?” she asked with a smile.

“About twenty minutes” He smiled down at her.

“Oh.. Morning” she kissed him lightly and got out of bed. She pulled on her housecoat and left the room. AJ followed. He found her her in the kitchen.

“How did you sleep?” He asked as he got the carton of orange juice out of the fridge.

“Fine, I had the strangest dream. I was walking on the beach and there was a JC Penny in the water. Isn’t that funny?” She giggled.

“I think it means you want to go to JC Penny to buy a bathing suit” AJ laughed.

“Yeah right! Why would I buy a bathing suit in October?” She laughed.

“It isn’t cold out you know.”

“I know, I just don’t swim very often”

“Oh...” He poured two glasses of orange juice and put the carton back in the fridge while Camille fried bacon and eggs.

“Could you put on some toast?” She asked as she turned a piece of bacon.

“Course”

“Thanks love” She said.

They ate at the kitchen table. “What do you want to do today?” AJ asked.

“Well if you wouldn’t mind I would like to spend the day with Emilie because she is going home tonight.”

“I don’t mind at all. I have some shopping to do anyhow.” He smiled secretivly.

“What for?” Camille asked with a raised eyebrow.

“That, my dear, is a secret” He said as he took a bite of his toast.

Later that day, Emilie, Camille and Kayla were all sitting in a booth at Denny’s. They were eating sundaes. “So are you happy about going home?” Kayla asked.

“Yes and no” Emilie said with a sigh.

“Why not? there’s nothing like home.” Camille asked.

“I just don’t want to go home because I will miss both of you so much! and this almost feels like home. I have had so much fun here.” Emilie said with stars in her eyes.

“Well, we haven’t really done anything special. You never really told us where you were going last night when you were all dressed up. Where did you go?” Kayla smiled.

“Out” Emilie replied and looked at her sundae.

“With who?” Camille asked equally curious about where her friend had been.

“With Howie”

“OHHHHHHHH and what happened?” Kayla asked, while Camille’s mouth dropped open.

“Nothing really.. We went to dinner, went to the beach and then just kinda drove around” Emilie said as she took a bite of her sundae.

“A kiss goodnight?” Camille smiled.

“Yes”

“Wow, looks like someone is falling in love!” Kayla giggled.

“Yes” Emilie sighed.

“You are?” Kay and Cami asked at the sametime. They didn’t expect that answer.

“Yes, I am.. He is perfect. He is understanding and caring and everything I have wanted.” Emilie sighed again.

“Wow you’ve got it bad girl!” Camille said.

“Yeah bad” Kayla agreed with her.

“That is the reason I want to stay. I mean I find a guy FINALLY and he has to live across a contenent. Why does this happen to me? It is so unfair.” Emilie said as tears shone in her eyes.

“Then stay!” Camille said.

“Can I? I wouldn’t be a burden?” Emilie said her eyes lighting up.

“No not at all! Just make sure you get a job!” Kayla said with a laugh.

“Oh you guys!” She cried out.

“So you will stay?” Camille asked.

“YES!”
