Hidden Depths

Slim like a model I'll never be
A busty blonde
That shall never be me
I'm the regular girl you pass in the street
The one who is quite plump and plain
Yes I'm the one you'll probably never take the time to meet
You have the eyes that twinkle
The eyes that shine
Eyes that need to look into mine
Can you see the child who cries
The lost little girl
Or do you see the woman wise
Do you see all the beauty in there
The love, the laughter, the happiness
For my outside looks you must not care
One day a good wife, friend and mother I will be
It could have been for you
If only you had taken the time to see
For inside this body lies the real me

Buried deep inside a coffin in my heart
is the love I once gave so freely
but which was then torn apart
