She Just Stood There
Her hair as black as night,
Her eyes as blue as the sea,
She just stood there staring,
She was looking down inside me.
She could feel the pain that I had felt,
And the tears that I had cried,
But still she stood there staring,
Still wanting to look inside.
I can't believe she just stood there,
Like there was nothing wrong,
It took me back to that awful time,
And she wanted to come along.
Along on a journey I'd taken,
So many years before,
It was the time when God came knocking,
He was knocking at my sister's door.
I refused to let her go,
I tried to lock Him out,
My sister turned to me and said,
"There's nothing to be sad about".
I still tried to fight it though,
I thought it wasn't meant to be,
"It's just her time to go",
God then said to me.
I still can't believe that she's gone,
And that ten years have passed,
But I still can't wait for the day,
When I'll see her again, at last.
She just stood there staring,
Right into my eyes,
But I guess she had felt the pain I did,
When my closest friend had died.
Every morning I wake,
And into the mirror I look,
She just stood there reading,
She was reading me like a book.
She never spoke a word,
All she did was stare,
I guess what I'm trying to say is,
She just stood there.
