Manny has a new little brother, someone to keep Manny out of Governor's fur so he can relax and sleep away his golden, golden years!

Marty is a "special needs" kitty. So no matter how cute and sweet a kitty he is, that means being adopted would be difficult. (He was born with half of his left hind leg missing.) So where does such a kitty go?

To the Southpawcats of course! Where he is totally accepted, and felt right at home the first nite! Manny and Marty played paws under the bedroom door for many hours. Finally I let Marty out, and the chase was on. They have wrestled, chased and played ever since.

Marty has been here a week now, and it sure is tough on my ego to have 3 guys in the house and I am STILL sleeping alone at nite!!!!

Guess where he was by the 3rd evening??? I couldn't believe it! He was in the top of Manny's tower!! Having only 3 legs sure hasn't slowed him down any. Manny is such a good big brother, yet he wasn't REAL happy about sharing HIS TOWER!

So I told Manny as soon as I can, I will get Marty a tower of his own so he won't have to share it for too long. But they have been together almost constantly! ROFL!! They even took a litterbox break from wrestling at the same time! I almost laughed myself silly when I saw that one!

Does this look familiar? {grin}

It is hard to remember Manny ever being this tiny!!

TWO YEARS LATER....

Marty is become more domestic all the time. He still wants to go outside alot. He has gone outside with Manny, wearing halters & ropes anchoring them while I am also out with them. However, Marty has learned to slide out of his halter! I have been trying to figure a way for them to have some kind of screened room to be able to really be outside with a grass floor they can pee on! Maybe next summer---

Please come back as I am sure there will be many more photos and stories of these 2 little wildcats!

Govy's page to check in on his status
my almost 18 year old Orange Tabby diabetic Curmudgeon.

Govy had 15 of his years with Miss Suzanna, even with the distractions of these young wild boys, I know he is still grieving the loss of our Princess. I still grieve and miss her every single day. I also know what she would say about the current Southpawcats status-- "There is sure alot of dumb boy is that house!" Yes, my sweet princess I miss you so much and which you were here to help me with these boys. Suzanna would have them in line for sure. These boys don't give me much loving, and I sure miss your nuzzles my little angel!

The next SouthpawCAT, Rocky, is planned to move in with us next spring. He is my niece Hannah's kitty. My sister is getting married to a guy who is allergic to cats. So Rocky will be hanging out here, but Hannah will always be his person! He is a beautiful large white kitty with an orange tabby tail and 2 Grocho Marx eyebrows of orange! Rocky is about 8 years old, and such a cool kitty!
