Miss Suzanna's Adventures

Oh What a Bumpy Ride!

Well we had another adventure going to see the Vet, today we saw Dr. Robin. She is so gentle with Miss Suzi, who wasn't in a very nice mood by the time we got there.

It was a very bumpy ride, and when you feel like hell~ as well as we all know Miss Suzi has no problem expressing how she feels!

Our Driver today will remain nameless, it is better that way......... he drove in the lane next to the curb where all the valleys and humps are each time Suz digging into me with her precious little CLAWS! Each BUMP! As well as my gut was killing me and she was CRYING LOUDLY the whole way there............ oh and he drove 26mph in a 35 mph speed zone...... I think I have a few holes in my tongue, from biting it so I wouldn't follow Miss Suzi's ways of expressing feelings!

We finally got to the office. The office/ Clinic kitties were all on duty, and very concerned for Miss Suzi as she continued to cry out. The 2 office furgirls Silver Puss & Nickel Puss [silver tabbies] watched with concern. However The Clinic Manager Duce who runs the place [& such a handsome fellow I might add] chose to get right up on the bench in the waiting area to check out what this yeowling noise was coming from the bundle of towels on my lap. Miss Suzi was not impressed.

I'll have to tell your more about Duce another time as he is quite the character! He excorted me to the Ladies Room, rolled on my backpack, and later back in the waiting room stole one of my sandles which he did more rolling. And talk about a saunter, this guy a has his own dance!

Note: at the bottom of this page is a link to Riverbrook Vet Clinic, on the front page is a photo of Duce & the Puss girls!

We were shown into the exam room. In the quiet & privacy Miss Suzi began to calm as I sang to her one of her favorite songs.."You are my Sunshine...."

When Dr. Robin came in, it didn't take her long to figure out my little girl's problem. A squeeze on the bladder for a sample, and she knew it had "crystals" before she even took a look under the microscope.

Dr. Robin returned and explained it as if she has sand in her bladder, passing it when she peed. Thus why it has her bladder area so irritated, and at times having blood in her pee. She examined Suz to see if she might have any stones. Even to she didn't feel any, with a possibility of one hiding and a x-ray would rule this out. I decided it was better for my peace of mind, plus I wouldn't have to put her through another travel adventure.....I requested to go ahead on x-rays today. I'm very happy to say~ She DOESN'T have any stones!!

Also I apparently wasn't actually putting the new medicine on correctly.......it is a new method to give medication. It is called "transdermal". From my medical clerk days, I remember in medical terms you break the words into sections.... "trans"= meaning "across, or through." and "dermal"means "skin or derma." So the medicine need to be given through the skin. If you are a furry little creature.... this can be a challenge.

Best bet is for "inside" the ear, and not the outside which I was doing! Also the pharmacy gave an amount that is very difficult to massage into a small 7 pound kitty size ear. So we will put part in both ears and probably twice a day.

Plus Miss Suzi has to be on a special prescription diet for about six months... oh this will be interesting---

Many of the Princess' fans {LOL!} know how she is about her Fancy Feast Trout... she will pout, wine, and whimper if I don't have any in the house and attempt to go a day or two without. It isn't always that easy to find just one certain flavor!
Where did you say the xanax was??

And with all the tummy problems she has had the last year, well now her tummy expresses itself when I feed her something else. How can something so cute and sweet.... oowweee.... smell so?? [sorry Suz, I'm in trouble now for telling that one...]

Dr. Robin said it could be from a number of things, animal medicine much like people medicine isn't quite sure, possibilities of chronic bladder infections play a part [since her injury she's had many], certain dietary foods, and now it is believed a possible virus........ Of course I continue to wonder if the Mold problem, and or whatever is in this house that has made of both sick the whole time living here.

I did abit of reading and diet, plenty of fresh water, exercise [in this tiny house?] and ........ .....the biggie .... "Limit the kitty's exposure to S_T_R_E_S_S!!!"
Do you think HUD is listening?

She does look better this evening. If because of having the antibiotic put on right, or having my worries relieved by a caring & kind Vet, or if even Suz may have felt that herself.

We'll keep you posted, and we have several older adventures sitting on the loading dock ready to be added, as soon as our health and energy allow. So do check back.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts, prayers, and support.

purrs,
