There are only two characters in the story with an obvious child-like mien: Emeraude and Clef. Both of these characters are the ones who set the knights' quest in motion. They both are petty, shallow people, who will manipulate others for their own agendas. It may be interesting to note that it was Clef who first gave the girls their armor and power, thus enabling them to embark on their ominous quest.
