The Fuzzy Enabler
This fuzzy friend is actualy the biggest, most powerful enabler for the quest to happen in the story. It is Mokona who leads the girls into battle, but whenever trouble is near, Monkona vanishes. We could hazard that he is the Spirit of War. This could explain the creature's perpetually closed eyes, blind to the results of his actions. Of course, it is up to the knights to interpret his intended actions, as Mokona never speaks in a human language. Going to war is an act of interpretation in itself.
