The basic story of Shadow Lady is thus. Aimi Komori is a sweet young girl, not quite 17 years old, living in Grey City. She is painfully shy and freezes up at the slightest embarrasment. However, when she puts on her magic eye-shadow at night, she becomes Shadow Lady, the most annoying theif in all of Grey City. Commissioner Doryh of the Grey City Police trys to stop her nightly, but to no avail. So life seems good for Shadow Lady. Then one night she meets Bright Honda. Bright is a young (25) policeman who has dedicated his life to stopping Shadow Lady. Why? Because he loves her. This fact breaks Aimi's heart, because she is in love with Bright, and she is her own rival. She attempts to win his affections as herself, but fears that she cannot do it. She will not give up, though.
So just when you think that you've got the gist of the story, Aimi comes home to find that the Demon Police are waiting. They tell her that if she does not help them recover the Demon Stones, they will kill her friend Demota, who is also a demon. Aimi, desperate to save her friend, agrees. Now she must roam Grey City in search of those humans who have been corrupted by the Stones in order to save Demo's life. Can she do it? Can she convince Bright that Shadow Lady is not the one committing the attrocities visited on the city by the villains?
