faith, hope and trick

Scott tried to get a date with Buffy once she returned to school for senior year. She still wasn’t quite over Angel, and she resisted, despite Willow’s urging. After finally deciding that it was time to move on, she began dating Scott.
Scott: Oh, well, we're not up to flowers. Are we? Up to flowers? Did I miss flowers?
Buffy: No. We're pre-posy. Definitely.
However, Angel returned and she became a bit preoccupied with trying to take care of him. Scott picked up on how distracted she was and he broke up with her right before homecoming.
Scott: Buffy, it's just... Before we were going out, you, you seemed so... full of life, like a force of nature. Now you just seem distracted all the time, and...
Faith saw him at the homecoming dance with a new girl, so to get back at him for Buffy, she embarrassed him in front of his date.
Faith: Scott? There you are, honey! ... Hey, good news. ... The doctor says that the itching and the swelling and the burning should clear up, but we gotta keep using the ointment.
Scott is mentioned again several years later when Buffy runs into a former classmate, Holden Webster, who has just become a vampire.
Holden: Well, you were never around. A lot of kids thought you were dating some really old guy, or that you were just heavy religious. Scott Hope said you were gay.
Buffy: What? I dated that ringworm.
Holden: He says that about every girl he breaks up with. And then last year, big surprise, he comes out.
Buffy: Men. I know how to pick 'em.
