Guns In The Hands Of My Neighbor's Child
ByJudith Hudson
- There's a gun in the hands of my neighbor's child
- Maybe if I walk by in a hurry I'll pretend I never saw,
- Maybe if I go over on the other side of the road that might make it simpler.
- There's a gun in the hands of my neighbor's child
- but I'm not telling
- I'm in a hurry and I'm too busy to care
- But half way down the road my conscience called and I questioned it.
- Why should I care?
- Why must my neighbor's business become my own?
- And my conscience answered yes!
- Your neighbor's business must become your own
- Your neighbor's tears must be your own
- Her plight, your plight
- We must help remove the guns
- And to do this we must start telling
- We must start seeing!
- We must start caring!
- We must to survive.
- There's a gun in the hands of my child
- Maybe if my neighbor hurries by
- She'll pretend she never saw...
