RSD MEDIA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The lack of public awareness and medical knowledge causes an alarming number of RSD patients to be misdiagnosed and made to suffer needlessly because of treatments (or lack of treatment) which causes their pain and symptoms to get worse. It causes many of us to be diagnosed too late. Many of us can't find doctors who know how to treat RSD. We have to fight to get the coverage we deserve and need from social security, workman's comp., and insurance companies. We lose our jobs due to our disabilities and this is often followed by losing our homes, possessions and even our families!!

Although the number of RSD victims continues to rise, research and treatments are virtually non-existent!! It is now believed that for every Aids patient in America, there are atleast 10 times as many RSD patients!!

It is time for us to all come together and work to fight for better understanding and awareness of RSD. It is VERY important for each and everyone of us as well as our loved ones and friends, to send out letters to the sites we list each week. The new sites for the week will be posted every week right here and also on the RSDLife Digest. I am also very proud to announce that many other RSD digests and message boards will now be posting my weekly addresses too. I sincerely thank each and every one of them for their support!!

TOGETHER WE WILL BE HEARD!!

There are many of us who feel we are not up to typing a letter every single week BUT that is fine! All any of us has to do is write ONE letter and save it on your computer. The letter can be addressed to "Dear Sir or Madame" and each week the same letter can be sent to the addresses designated! All that is needed is a one page letter, short and to the point as many places wont read a long letter. Include your personal experience (not just medical info), including how you got RSD, how it effects your daily living, how it effects your family, and how you deal with it (including support groups, the digest, etc.). Please feel free to include my link page (which links to most of the major RSD support groups as well as medical organizations such as NIH,NORD, etc, who post RSD information) PAIN PAL'S MEDICAL LINKS & RSD SUPPORT (https://www.angelfire.com/me2/rsdpainpals/links.html) or the URL of your favorite RSD site so they have some place to follow up on.

Remember, these letters can be written by the RSD patient, as well as spouses, children, parents, family, and friends. This project will not succeed without the help of all of you and your families and friends!! The more people who write these letters, the sooner someone will hear us and listen to what we have to say!!

The Media Campaign is back in full swing!! We need YOUR help if we want to be heard!!! We are all in this together my friends! Let's work together & show everyone what this group can really do!

BRAND NEW!! PAIN PAL'S NEW RSD MEDIA AWARENESS PROJECT!! There is strength in numbers so together we are going to try make the Media hear us and take note!! Along with continuing the weekly Media Campaign , I am proud to announce the next step in our fight for RSD Awareness. I am collecting stories from as many RSD'ers, their loved ones and friends, etc. as I possibly can and then will send these letters as a group to all the TV stations, newspapers, magazines, etc. at once. Perhaps if they see a huge pile of letters all at once they will sit up and take notice. It can not hurt to try and will only succeed with YOUR support.
