Spiral is a mystery detective anime similar to Conan the Detective, except much more dark and crazy. The main character is Aymu Narumi, who is an ordinary carefree boy in high school. His brother Kiyo, a great detective, had disappeared a while ago without a trace, while speaking of something called the Blade Children. He now lives with his sister-in-law, Kiyo's wife, Madoka who is a poolice investigator. As they go about their normal lives, an incident happens in Aymu's school where there is mention of the 'Blade Children.' Knowing that it is connected to his brother's disappearance, he investigates and comes out with some startling meetings with the 'Blade Children' themselves. This 26 episode anime is one of very favorite and worth watching because it offers enjoyment. It can be downloaded from the internet with fansubs.
Aymu: Aymu Narumi, the main character, is a normal high school boy who gets interested in the events going on around him when he realizes they are connected tot he disappearance of his brother.
Madoka: The wife of the missing brother, Kiyo, and also the sister-in-law of Aymu, she is a main part of the story. She generally is hard working, but yet leaves alot of the house work to Aymu. She occassionally gets depressed at the disappearance of her husband and longs to see him.
Kiyono: A friend of Aymu at school, she is a reporter for the school news paper and helps Aymu uncover the secret of the 'Blade Children.'
Blade Children: The blade children are cursed and have a mystery surrounding them which relates to Aymu's missing brother Kiyo. They seem to be in the center of various incidents. As not to spoil the series, you must watch to learn more about them.
