Chrono Trigger is truly a classic. It is not like any other RPG. It has a timed battle mode unlike most RPG's. It is for the SNES. It is expensive and VERY rare. The characters you can play are:

Crono - A regular boy who is very skilled in sword fighting. He lives in the town of Truce in the year 1000.

Lucca - Crono's best friend. She is a very intelligent inventor. Like Crono she lives in Truce.

Marle or princess Nadia - The town of truce is in the kingdom of Gaurdia. Gaurdia Castle is near Truce. Her father is the king of Gaurdia. She runs away hoping to learn about modern life.

Magus or Janus - In the ice ages there was a magical kingdom named Zeal. They harnessed energy from a mighty being called Lavos using the mammon machine. Once the power bacame to strong and Lavos emerged from the deep. There was a boy named Janus who was the prince of Zeal. His mother had died and father got married to another woman who already had a daughter named Schala. Janus's only friends were Schala and his cat. His father later died. When Lavos emerged he sent Janus into a time warp to the middle ages. He was found by Ozzie the ruler of the mystics. The mystics were a species of monsters who were always fighting humans. Ozzie was attacking Janus when all of a sudden he unleashed a great magic which was stronger than both mystic and human. Ozzie taugt him about evil and sorcery. He soon breathed,fought,acted and even growed like a mystic. His goal is to destroy the mighty Lavos and have revenge. He is now the leader of the mystics. His name was then changed to Magus.

Frog or Glenn - In the year 580 a knight named Cyrus and his companian Glenn were sent out to destroy Magus and get his hands on the legendary sword,masamune! The masmune was the only sword which could defeat Magus. He managed to get his hands on the Masamune but was ambushed by Ozzie and Magus. Ozzie destroyed the masamune! Magus killed Cyrus! He then cast a spell on Glenn turning him into a frog. He found the legendary hero madal that was given to the chosen one. Cyrus was te chosen one. Since Cyrus died Frog learned is true destiny.Frog: "I shall whoop thy pants off and restore thou honor"

Robo or R66-Y or Prometheus - Robo is a humanoid robot who is from the year 2600. He is supposed to be evil. Lucca reprograms him. He lives in Proto Dome. A dome where people hided when Lavos emerged from the earth and destroyed it. His plans are to go back in time and to destroy Lavos for what he did to his world.

Aayla - Aayla is from way back in prehistoric. She is the cheif of Ioka village. The Ioka vallager are always attacked by Reptites. The Reptites are a group of terrorist reptiles who want to take over Ioka. Aayla's plans are to destroy the leader of the Repites, AZALA!
