The reasons why Pokemon is worth playing:

* Capturing and trying out new Pokemon to find your favorites

* Leveling up and teaching Pokemon new moves

* Catching Legendary Pokemon

* Pokemon Battles with other trainers and gym leaders

* A very easy to follow storyline The Pokemon series has always been one of Nintendo's biggest franchises and dramatically increases the sales of Gameboy systems when it is released. Pokemon is still very popular as it was before, and this is based on how well-developed the games are.

Reviews:

*Pokemon Red/Blue - This was the first Pokemon game and was responsible along with the tv show and the card game for starting the brilliant Pokemon craze which happened throught the world around the end of the 1990's. Pokemon Red/Blue were the basics that determined everything that is Pokemon today. In the beginning, your character was given a choice between Charmander (Fire Pokemon), Squirtle (Water Pokemon), and Bulbasaur (Grass Pokemon). Your opponent than choice the opposing Pokemon which had an elemental strength over your Pokemon. Then you went to different towns to fight differnetgym leaders with the Pokemon you captured and levelled up on the way. Using their weaknesses, you defeated them until you got to the final Four great Pokemon Masters, whom you had to defeat to win the game. Throughout the game you had to defeat your rival, various trainers in battles. You also had to fight the evil Team Rocket who captured Pokemon for evil. There was included in the game many stages, caves, forests, buildings to catch Pokemon. There were also some rare Pokemon available who were known as the Legendary Pokemon like Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres (the three legendary bird Pokemon), Mewtwo (the Legendary Psychic Pokemon), and (a choice between either) Kabuto or Omanyte the legendary Fossil Pokemon. The differences in the different versions was that some Pokemon were only available in the other version, whicle others were rarer in the other version, etc.

Tips:

* Weaken Pokemon first before catching them with your pokeballs, it also helps to add sleep, confusion, and other status ailements to the opponent. If you first do not catch a Pokemon, try it again the next turn, the rate of success is higher the subsequent time.

* Level up the Pokemon you think are powerful. Most of the Pokemon you catch won't be used very often.

* When fighting the gym leaders and other trainers, remember to go back to the Pokecenter to heal your Pokemon, otherwise if all your Pokemon faint, you have to start off from where you last saved.

* Save your Master Balls and rare Pokeballs for the Legendary Pokemon in the game, this will be towards the end.

* If looking for a rare Pokemon, be sure to check bushes in the daytime and nightime, as different Pokemon might appear (does not work in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow)

*Traded Pokemon increase levels faster than normal Pokemon however a level 50 normally levelled up Pokemon is stronger than a Level 50 traded Pokemon, but they level up faster so it makes up for it.

*When fighting other Pokemon and Gym Leaders, keep in mind weaknesses and strength of the Pokemon to give you an advantage.
