Now at the same time, Jeremy was making his way past the town to find his father. This was the night they were supposed to get their Christmas tree. His Daddy had been working alot for Mr. Clausin, he had not seen him in two days, and tonight was Christmas Eve! Jeremy was hoping that Mr. Clausin would give his father the evening off. True to his word, Mr Clausin had paid his father well. Jeremy's family was going to have a wonderful Christmas! With some left over! Jeremy was surprised when he came towards the house that Mr Clausin lived in ..It was huge! All lit up and sparkling, it looked like some sort of castle. He saw his Father and ran towards him. "Daddy, Daddy, are we going to get the tree? I came to tell you that its Christmas Eve and we have to get our tree. Mommy and Emily are making up the popcorn, and Jessie went to find the berries. Please Daddy you promised we could cut down a tree this year." Now Presence had viewed this whole scene, and wondered who the little human male was, and of course being a cat, he was curious to see more. Santa had treated him very well and he was beginning to show interest in what humans do. Maybe there were other nice humans out there. Jeremy's Dad laughed and said, "Yes son, we will go, I'm almost finished here then all my work is done. I'll be along shortly and we'll go get our tree!" "Hurray!", yelled Jeremy. "I'll see you at home then Daddy! Please don't be long!" Jeremy looked up and saw the most beautiful red bird he had ever seen. "Don't worry Mr Birdy, I promise we won't cut down your home." Jeremy then scampered towards home, a very happy little boy. Now as Presence watched this whole thing, he wondered if his dislike of humans was uncalled for. This little boy human seemed to be very loving, and gentle. Presence padded towards the house and went inside to talk to Mr Clausin.
