Submitted by Rita~aka~Rerat Old Fashioned Soft Sour Cream Sugar Cookies1/2 cup crisco1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened 2 cup sugar 4 eggs,beaten lightly 2 tea vanilla 5 1/3 cup flour 1 tea baking powder 1 tea rounded baking soda 1 tea salt 1/2 tea nutmeg 1 cup sour cream (best with Sour Cream {but can do the sour reg milk with vinegar or lemon juice}) Heat oven to 350. Mix all dry ingredients. Cream crisco & margarine, eggs & vanilla. Add dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream. Roll 1/8-1/4 inch, (can do thicker, but they do puff up alot!!) or drop on greased sheets. Bake until no imprints remain when touched lightly about 8-10 min.!!! Can sprinkle colored sugar or white on before baking!!! makes 4-5 dozen Cookie Frosting4 cup powdered sugar1 stick margarine, or butter (1/2 cup) 1 or 2 tsp vanilla 2 tbls water or milk Cream butter with vanilla. gradually add sugar, beating throughly.
