Beef Stroganoff Ritis Style
1 1/2 lbs lean round steak, extra fat
trimmed and sliced stirfry style
1 large yellow onion sliced into rings
2 tbls oil or shortening
1 8oz package fresh mushrooms, cleaned and
sliced
(You can used canned but fresh tastes
so much better)
1/3 cup flour (or enough to coat meat)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper (I use more but thats up
to you)
about 2 cups water
1 beef bouillon cube
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 package noodles
Mix flour, salt and pepper (I like my
zipper baggies again for this)
Put in steak and coat throughly.
Heat oil or shortening in large skillet, until hot (med high heat)
brown meat, add onions, cook until onions are
translucent.
Pour water over meat (water should cover
meat) and add bouillon cube and worcestershire sauce.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer (stirring occasionally) until meat is tender and theres a nice thick gravy, about 30-45 minutes.
Add more water if necessary.
Add mushrooms and wine, cook about 10 minutes more.
Boil noodles (what ever kind you like I use
egg noodles)
Just before serving add sour cream, stirring until well mixed.
Serve over
noodles and ENJOY!!!!!!
I also serve warm
soft bread sticks with this
dish.
