A Simple Woman
A simple woman is what I am,
With no need for diamond rings.
I don't need a maid to clean my house,
I just need life's simple things.
I need a hug when life has me down,
A friendly voice when I cry inside.
I need to play outside in the sunshine,
Give a child a smile a mile wide.
My tastes are very simple,
Champagne is no better than milk to me.
I like sitting along the water's edge,
A hot dog fresh from the grill, please.
Bare feet in the fresh spring grass,
An ear when I feel the need to vent.
A good friend to share my journey,
This is how my life will be spent.
To most people I am a simple woman,
I share what I think and feel,
I wouldn't have it any other way,
I'm simple for sure, but I'm real!
