Buffy Summers and her om arrive in Sunnydale to start a new life, unaware that is is built on top of a Heymouth. Buffy starts school and meets Willow, Xander, Cordelia, and Giles. The plot of the series is laid out as Buffy starts her slayage in Sunnydale. Giles, her watcher, starts a new friendship with Buffy and the gang; a friendship built to last.

Meanwhile, underground, the Master vampire, the oldest one alive, is making plans for his Ascension, the Harvest, when once again, he and the rest of the vampires will walk among the living.

My Review: Four Stars

This episode is a great introduction to Sunnydale and Buffy's friends. Though difficult to understand when referring to the movie, this episode is full of suspense and thrill. It also lays down the plot; a girl is born every generation with the power to fight vampires and other forces of darkness. Buffy is like an update and a makeover of XENA. Her puns are terribly funny, and the valley girl attitude adds spice and irony to the "fighting" plot.
