Teaching kids to "count to five" might help them improve their dietary habits.
Make a fruit and veggie chart for the front of the refrigerator. Give your children a sticker for the chart each time they eat a serving of fruits or vegetables. When they get five a day, reward them with a favorite non-food treat, such as a felt pen and paper or read them a favorite story.
Another way to encourage kids to eat their fruits and vegetables is to eat them yourself. Children's dietary habits mirror those of their parents more than you might think. So make an effort to get in those servings of fruits and vegetables and your kids might eat healthier, too.
