About Me!
Well, to start off with, my full name is Sarah May Smith. I am 13 years old and live in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I am an animal lover, but I love horses the most, and dogs probably come second best.
I have been riding horses since I was eight years old. I learnt how to ride at a school called New England Girls School or NEGS for short, as we had grown to call it. The school is situated on 100 acres, and includes it's own cross country course, arenas and stables. So, being a keen horse lover, I just had to learn. I learnt to ride on a chestnut horse called Tandarra and when I was a good rider, I rode a fleabitten horse called Tarragin. I loved both of these horses very much, and I want to pay a tribute to you both by telling the world about you. THANX GUYS!
I then moved to Sydney, and started to ride at a fabulous place called Darkes Forest Riding Ranch. I loved it here. I met some very interesting horses, including Kiwi (died last year - miss you sweetie!), Dobbin (cute paint! Don't leave us yet! We all love you! Lauren would miss you too much!), Ike (Chestnut gelding. Love you! Good luck to Laura Blewitt who rides, him for next year!), Croppy (Bay gelding. So sorry that you're retired now! Thankyou for your help in the brown group!), Harley (Mottled gelding. Thanks for last year! Don't give up!), Ranger (My darling chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. Love you alot! We'll win the first's next year!). These are just a few of my favourite horses that helped me!
I soon joined the Darkes Forest Pony Club on the bay gelding with the short tail, Croppy. I loved him alot, and I still do. We were in Brown group, the lowest group, and we won 2 trophies at the end of the year! Both were second places! The next year, I rode Harley, the brown mottled gelding called Harley, who everyone called a donkey. We rode for about three quarters of 1998, and then I met Ranger. We rode for the rest of 1998, and managed to score another 2 trophies - a second and a third! Ranger and I carried on to win another 2 trophies for 1999 - two more seconds!
I learn the Clarinet and play in the school band. I have been playing for a little over a year now. I can play the violin (I learnt at NEGS) and do a small scale on the flute!
I have four pets. I own a minature Fox Terrier called Tiny and three fish. Hopefully, I will be able to add another animal to my list - a horse called Ranger!
I go to a school in Hurstville called Danebank. I am in the Senior school, and in 2000, I will be going into grade eight.
