"The name's Bond, James Bond."
Welcome to the 007 Citadel, where I keep my small tribute to the mystery man with the BMW and the PPK.
Over the years many things have been said about James Bond, "All women want him, all men want to be him." Well I don't really "want" the man himself, but I wouldn't mind being some of the women. They, and the actresses who play them are some of the most together people I have ever seen on a screen. My personal favorites are the two shown below, Magda and Octopussy...suprise Octopussy is also my favorite bond movie.
James Bond 007 first took the world by storm with Dr.No in the early '60s, starring the man who would come to be known best as Bond, Sean Connery. On seeing the incredable success of the films based (only loosely) on Ian Flemings famous spy novels, MGM went on to produce 19 (up to the present day) more Bond films, which are as follows:
From Russia With Love (63)
Goldfinger (64) Thunderball (65), You Only Live Twice (67 On Her Majesty's Secret Service (69) Diamonds Are Forever (71) ,Live And Let Die (73) The Man With The Golden Gun (74) The Spy Who Loved Me (77) ,Moonraker(79) For Your Eyes Only (81) ,Octopussy (83), A View To A Kill(85), The Living Daylights (87), Licence To Kill (89) GoldenEye (95), Tomorrow Never Dies (97) ,and finally The World Is Not Enough (99).
Throughout the 19 films 5 different actors have starred as the super sophisticated spy, Sean Connery is the most well known of course, and George Lazenby the least since he only starred in one picture. The others are Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and most recently Peirce Brosan. If you look closely you can see each of their pictures is in the background on this page. I hope to get some individual shots soon.
Many people say that the highlight of the Bond films are the chases, the romances and the hit theme songs, well I can't do much about the first two, but I can provide the lyrics to the various theme songs.
If you are wondering the "official" stats for James Bond, they are as follows (taken from The James Bond Dossier):
BOND, James

If you own a DVD player and have not already done so I highly recommend renting or purchasing the 007 collection on DVD. These special editions come with many extra features, including interesting audio commentary from the directors of the various films which can give the viewer a whole new take on the Bond sensation.
