A bit of news that some of you might enjoy,....
On February 25th,1998, I Sheryl aka Thyme, was living alone in lonely frozen Canada.
On that day, after work, at about 6:00 pm, we had a major snow storm.
It was very cold outside, and I was freezing my butt off
as I patiently left the office and went to the bus-stop.
At first, I had no idea where I was going,
I just didn't feel like going home to my empty apartment.
I got on the bus and ended up at "Future Shop".
Once inside I wondered around until I came across the computer section.
Remembering my friend "Shannon" telling me all about the net
and how much fun she was having, I decided right then and there
to buy a computer!
I went home with one that night and I haven't looked back since!
I surfed, and surfed, and surfed, for to many hours to admit,
but I saw so much, and learned so much, and gained so many
new friends, that I do believe that I am
"Hooked For Life!"
But what a beautiful world to be hooked on!
Oh the wonders and the no more lonely hours.
I was a wonder at the keyboard.
Then, sometime in April, I met a couple of Australians,
who if truth be told, they changed my life forever!
Mazzy, the greatest lady on earth, and my best friend for life,
and cacw, one of the nicest men I met online.
We party every night on here,
I actually stay up way late just to spend time with them.
They have introduced me to their friends on here and together we have a ball!
WOW, I met an incredible man on here.
His nick is "wookie", he is from Australia,
cacw and him are close buds IRL,
cannot believe how wonderful he is.
wookie and I talked for hours and hours,
almost forgetting about our other friends online.
We did it, in a few short weeks,
we fell in love. Good lord how is this going to work out??
Him in Australia, and me here in Canada??
June,....July,....August,....September,....
We have to meet!!!
wookie and I have decided that he is coming to Canada
He will be here in March, which just so happens to be
when both of us have birthdays!
Wedding Bells in March ???
October,....
wookie has lost his job, therefore his holidays also.
November,...
Things are looking up,....
but it's a secret!!!
On December 25th, 1998, wookie landed in Winnipeg, Canada.
I, Thyme, met him at the airport.
We hugged, we kissed, we cried!
We fell in love all over again!
On December 29th, 1998, we married!
We spent 3 glorious weeks together.
On January 15th, 1999, wookie flew home to Adelaide, Australia.
And now we sit, waiting, trying to be patient,
for the Australian Government to grant me a visa.
Once this visa is in my hot little hands,
I, Thyme, will be on my way, to finally, live happily ever after,
with my husband!!!
This, my friends, will be the happiest day in our lives,....
so far!!!!!!!
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
On March 4th, I, Thyme got my visa in the mail!!!!!!!
On March 31st, I, Thyme, became homeless and jobless!
I had to spend 5 days with friends, until my flight left for Australia on April 5th.
April 2nd and 3rd, in Winnipeg, brought much snow. Became scared thinking flight might be cancelled!
Left Winnipeg on the 5th of April, Monday, at 6:25 am, which was Tuesday, April 6th in Australia.
Flew to Calgary, 2 hour flight, arrived at 7:28 Calgary time. Left Calgary at 9:15 am.
Flew to Los Angeles, 3 hour flight, arrived at 11:23 am L.A. time. Left L.A. at 2:40 pm.
Flew to Tokyo, (just a touch down) then on to Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, 19 hour 50 minute flight!! Arrived at 1:30 am Kuala Lumpur time. Left Kuala Lumpur at 9:00 pm.
Flew to Melbourne, (just a touch down) then on to ADELAIDE, 10 hour 5 minute flight!! Arrived at 8:35 am, Thursday, Adelaide time!! Would have been about 4 pm, Wednesday, back where I started from in Winnipeg!!
There to meet me at the Adelaide, South Australia airport, was my husband, and best friend, David aka wookie. He took me home and I met his mum and proceeded to fall asleep for the next 9 hours or so. Jet lag friends is atrocious! I must admit that I was a bit dazed and confused when I arrived, but with the help of the wookster, and his family, I feel wonderful now.
wookies family and his friends are very welcoming to me.They are all doing their best at making me feel at home.
I have now been here for just under a week, things are getting better every day!
I, Thyme, and my husband wookie, are no longer "on our way" to live happily ever after,
that time is NOW, we are at the beginning, and everything keeps getting better, and better.
Who knows, maybe the next update will be about our new home,.. or just maybe about a new addition to our family!
