Tadoussac
Whale watching Snoopy went to this tiny little 400 year old town to do some whale-watching. Snoopy was on a little boat right on the St. Lawrence River. Anyway, within the river are millions of sealife species like beluga whales, minki whales, and mussels for them to eat.

Snoopy's ride into Tadoussac had a s-p-e-t-a-c-u-l-a-r view of the natural forests on either side of the road and the St. Lawrence River (and the Quebecoise girls). Snoopy was happily listening to various French radio stations, the Flintstones soundtrack, and Offspring.

After whale-watching, Snoopy walked around to check out the museum, souvenir shops with Native art, and watched some beavers at work.

Stuff about Tadoussac
It's Canada's oldest town. In fact, it was the very first place of European settlement north of Mexico which ultimately lead to Canada's formation. You can see a lot of native artwork in the shops here. And whales aren't the only creatures you can watch in their natural environment. There's a trail leading to watch some beavers at work. The chapel of Tadoussac dates back to the early days and it's still in use today.

Tadoussac has a natural harbour which made it an ideal settlement. The name comes from the native word meaning breast because of the mountains surrounding the town or the place where the ice is broken. To check out all the naval things about the habour, go to www.tc.gc.ca/QuebecRegion/html_ports_a/tadoussc.html. And speaking of naval things, to get to Tadoussac, you must stop at Baie-la-Sainte-Cahterine and take a ferry boat across the river. Yes, there is a website about it! Go to www.traversiers.gouv.qc.ca/tadoussa/indexa.htm.

A side note here, um...in the middle of the St. Lawrence river, there's a lighthouse with a helicopter port which resembles...well, you see, from far away it, um, kinda resembles a rather rude hand-gesture.
