Chapter 5

Lou looked back and saw two men ridin fast in their direction.
"Who is that Jimmy?" Lou asked quietly as they rode to the side of the road to make room for the riders. "I can't tell Lou." As the riders rode by Lou recognised one. It was a boy she knew from a long time ago. It was the boy her father wanted her to marry. His name was Jake Teri. When he saw her he pulled his big gray horse to a stop. "Louise?" Jake questioned. "Howdy Jake. Which lawman's chasin ya this time?"
"Now Wheeze what makes ya think somebody's chasin' me?" Jake asked innocently.
"Cuz your runnin like a bat outta hell." "A Marshell by the name of Teaspoon Hunter." Jimmy drew his gun at the exact moment as Jake. They sat on their horses holding guns on each other. Jimmy's steel gray eyes met Jakes dark green ones. They fired....

Jake and Jimmy laughed as they saw the look on Lou's face as both bulllets barely missed. They jumped off their horses and hugged like they were brothers. "How do ya'll know each other?" Lou asked. This was really starting to confuse her.
"Jim Boy used to live next door." Jake answered. "Oh, uh, Wheeze why ya dressed like a boy?"
"I ran away from the orphanage. I didn't have no where else to go so I cut my hair, dressed like a boy and got a job for the express." As Lou explained, Teaspoon and a posse came around the road.
