They were getting real close to ST. Joe. Lou could already feel the soft feather beds of the hotel. She couldnt wait, she was so tiered. It seemed to take forever to get the horses settled and get over to the hotel. They stopped in the dinning room before checking in to get a little bit to eat. There were quite a few people there.
After they ate Lou and Jimmy walk to the desk. "Two rooms." Jimmy said to the bald clerk.
"Sorry Sir. But theres only one room ready tonight. tomorrow ther'll be another. Feller the name a Teri's leavin." The man said. "Fine we'll take the room." Jimmy said. He didn't sound happy. Somehow every where they go theres only one room.
"What room is Mr. Teri in?" Lou asked. as jimmy started up the stairs. "Three doors down from yours sir." The man answered. "thanks" Lou said. She followed Jimmy till they reached their room. "Where are you goin, Lou??" Jimmy asked when she walked by him. "To see Jake." she answered. "Fine".
Lou walked three doors down. She knocked on the fourth door. A young woman answered. "Need somethin?" "Sandy?" Lou said not believing her eyes. "Ya,....Who are you." The woman answered. Like she thought Lou was crazy.
"Sandy its me. Louise McCloud. " Sandys eyes got big and she looked like she might pass out. "Wheeze???? Get in here and what are you wearin?" Sandy stepped out of the door way. And let Lou in. They hugged like sisters. They almost were.
"Don't you mean Louise Teri?" Sandy asked. " Sandy it was a long time ago when me and Jake did that. And it was mostly a mistake." Lou said. She walked over to the bed and sat down. " You know Louise. You were lucky to get him." sandy said as she sat down on the floor infront of Louise. "That I was Sandy. But I wasn't lucky enough to keep him."
''You were the one who left wheeze. Not him. He always stayed for you because he loved you and all of us thought you loved him." Sandy said quietly.
"I did love him."
"Do ya still, Louise. You are married to the man." Jake and Jimmy walked in when Sandy said that. "Who ya married to Lou?" Jimmy asked.
