One of the most popualr shows among teenagers this past season has been ABC-TV's hot western, "The Young Riders." Set in 1860, these brave Pony Express riders risked their lives daily just to deliver mail. No roads. No trails. No air-conditioned buses. Just 2000 miles of barren wilderness, fraught with peril at every turn from Indians, bad weather, bandits, rattlers and wild animals. Of course, the babbling brooks were filled with clear unpolluted water to drink. And their sense of adventure dominated their spirit. The Kid (Ty Miller), Jimmy Hickok (Jost Brolin), William Cody (Stephen Baldwin), Ike McSwain (Travis Fine), Buck Cross (Gregg Rainwater), Lou McCloud (Yvonne Suhor), Emma Shannon (Melissa Leo), Marshall Sam Cain (Brett Cullen), and Teaspoon Hunter (Anthony Zerbe) comprise the cast. The Kid seems to be on everyone's favorite list. Ty was born in Grenada Hills, California and he grew up expecting to be in his family's Christmas tree business. While attending the University of Southern California as a business major, he found some work doing commercials (his first commercial was for canned ham). Appearing in 20 commercials hed to some acting spots on some sitcoms. But still the youngster made sure he graduated, which he did with a B.S. degree. Leaving school behind, the business-minded youth entered the real estate world while continuing his acting on such show as "Growing Pains", "Hotel", and "Highway to Heaven." The 5'10", blue-eyed Ty loves to sing, play his guitar and ride his bike. Josh Brolin, son of actor James Brolin, grew up around horses in Paso Robles, California. Appearing in the film "Goonies", he went on to act in "Highway to Heaven" and "21 Jump Street." The 5'10" brown-eyed, brown haired cat lover likes to ride his motorcycle on long crosscountry trips.
