THOSE
WHO OPPOSE THEMSELVES
There are some things that I’ve heard lately that I would
like to talk about in our time together today.
One of the things is that “if you believe it, that makes it
so for you.” In other words, when it
comes to God, or whatever form of a supreme being you believe in, whatever
ideas you have make it right for you.
It may or may not have been proven to be right or wrong.
Another thing I’ve been very aware of, as I’m sure are all
of you watching this program – the current flu epidemic that is spreading
everywhere.
Another thing I’ve heard about is that the Center for
Disease Control, better known as the CDC, is now telling us that by 2010, there
will be a “pandemic” hit not only the United States, as well as many areas in
the world. It will be of such magnitude
that there will not be a medicine to go around for everyone.
So, my question to you at this time, is what will the
“idea” of your God, or “supreme being” that you believe in, do to sustain you
through all of this? If what you are
trusting is anything outside of the Bible, you don’t have a chance.
I care about what happens to people, so I want to bring you
this information.
The Lord gave me the title for this program, that being,
“It’s A Matter of Fact.” That is why I
make the very bold statement that the Bible is a matter of fact. Through the years, no one has ever been able
to disprove it. All of what is written
in it is coming to pass so very clearly today.
There is a really cool book by Michael Drosnan called Bible Code I and
Bible Code II. It’s written by an
atheist, and a Jewish quantum physics scientist. I’m sure you will agree with me that anyone who is a non-believer
in the Bible will have the attitude of trying every means to disprove what is
written. Both books are very
fascinating. Ely Rips is
The Jewish gentleman who is the quantum physics
scientist. Quantum physics is a most
exacting science which has been discovered in the last several years and is
being used to prove the validity of the Bible.
It’s very awesome, as well as something that brings security in this
trying day that we live in. So for you
skeptics, you can get some awesome information in these books. Again, Bible Code I and Bible Code II, by
Michael Drosnan and Ely Rips.
I’ve been covering this program from this standpoint,
because I want to make you aware of the fact that you can avoid tragedy and
live a better life. Once again, as I’ve
said in my past programs, “it’s up to you.”
God says in His Word, in the book of Deuteronomy, YOU CHOOSE this day,
life and blessing, or death and cursing.
He’s given you the opportunity to choose to believe in “what you think
is right for you, because you think it’s right and you believe it, or get into
His Word the Bible and exercise the choices and rights He’s provided for you
that are sure and secure in our day.
Stop and think about where you will turn when you need help
for whatever need it is you face. Let
me encourage you to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ, His Father God, and the
Holy Spirit. Once again, with the
things that we will be facing soon, there is a way you can avoid tragedy and
live a better life. I know for those of
you who are parents, have small children that you want the very best for, you
would feel much more secure in the Bible and what God offers through His Son
Jesus Christ, than what the natural world has to offer with all of the things
that are going wrong out there right now.
Sorry to tell you this, but it’s not going to get better. So, that’s why I want to offer you the
security you can find in the Bible – GOOD NEWS for the here and now.
The Bible has the answer for your health, prosperity and
safety. For myself, I find great
comfort in knowing what the scripture says in Psalm 91 about my safety. There are conditions to be met in order to
walk in this safety – but being safe is something we all want to walk in
today. We need to know how to cover our
children with one of the most powerful tools there is today, to keep them safe
also.
There is a way to walk in health today also, in spite of
all the new health concerns that are coming on the scene.
There is also a way to be prosperous – all of this included
in a lifestyle to be developed from the Bible.
So, let’s see how you can avoid tragedy and live a better
life. I so want that for you.
I want this study to be a scriptural help to understanding
some unanswered questions in the minds of many.
So, assume with me that the Bible is “A Matter of Fact” and
learn how you can make your life better.
It’s a lifestyle, 24 x 7, 365 days a year. I think it’s very worth it, to know you can
be safe and well 24 x 7 and 365 days a year.
There is a need for knowledge. God’s people don’t need so much “inspiration” as they need
“information.” Don’t look at the Bible
as something that is mystical – that God is far off and doesn’t really
care. He does care about each and every
one of us. He’s set up systems, has a business
deal and a covenant package in His Word.
That statement will rattle some “religious” people. But, it’s true. He is awesome, to be revered and respected – but He is also
according to the book of Micah, going to and fro in the earth, looking for someone
He can bless. So, let’s be those kind
of people.
In Hosea 4:6, God said, “My people are destroyed for lack
of knowledge….
We could apply that to every day life – people living today
won’t go very far if they don’t have knowledge to perform a job that will bring
them an income and support their lifestyle.
That’s not difficult to understand is it?
It’s the same way with the Bible and the born-again
Christian lifestyle.
You have to “get an education” about the ways of God, in
order to learn how to bring safety, health and prosperity according to what He
provides for us. What’s so spooky about
that?
So, here we can see God revealing the MAJOR SOURCE OF
DESTRUCTION. My people are destroyed
for LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.
A person cannot believe any farther than he has
knowledge. He can have great zeal, but
without knowledge to go with it, his zeal will be misdirected.
Same way in the work world. We would love to have all of the CEO positions and be
leaders. However, if we don’t have the
knowledge, we can’t have the title.
Once again, it works the same in the natural as it does in
the spiritual world with God.
Lack of knowledge is probably the number one reason tragedy
comes to many Christians. This lack of
knowledge causes people to fall into needless problems, troubles, suffering,
sickness and destruction.
II Peter 1:2 tells us that grace and peace are multiplied
to you THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, AND OF JESUS OUR LORD. If we can’t have the knowledge of God, as
some people would tell us, then why does He tell us that “grace and peace and
multiplied to us through that knowledge.”
It’s pretty simple here to see that even in the midst of a
troubled world, God has given us a promise of peace through the knowledge of
God. It is a matter of fact that is
permanent and we can count on it.
The definition of grace is “God’s willingness to use His
power on our behalf.”
According to this verse, God willingness is multiplied to
an individual AS we gain the knowledge of God.
That’s a pretty awesome statement – would you not agree? I want to add here that it is a
process. That process will take place
just as quickly as you want to apply yourself to learn about it through His
Word.
Verse 3 says, …according as His divine power has given to
us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him
that called us to glory and virtue.
Note in this verse the words LIFE AND GODLINESS.
All things that pertain to life and godliness are already
given to us; but in order to enter into these things that pertain to life, we
must have knowledge of it.
Further in verse 4, He says, “whereby are given to us
EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES that by these you might be partakers of
the divine nature (here and now – not in the sweet by and by).
IT IS BY THE DIVINE PROMISE THAT WE ARE MADE PARTAKERS OF
THE DIVINE NATURE OF GOD. How awesome
can that be?
Again, verse 3 says, His divine power has given to us all
things that pertain to life and godliness.
It is God’s divine power that gives us these things. And He tells us how. Through the knowledge of God.
In Joshua 1:8 He gives us further instruction about “how to
meditate in the Word of God – THEN YOU SHALL MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS.”
The promises in the Word of God come by KNOWING, BELIEVING,
AND ACTING on these promises. Then you
partake of God’s divine nature.
So, at this point let me ask you – can your idea of God,
that works for you because you believe it, ASSURE you of such things? Again, I want
to say, the God of the Bible has systems, ways He wants
things done and promises that are guaranteed to work for you. They truly are a matter of fact – something
you can count on when all else fails – including the things you think are
right, “just because you believe they are.”
There are valid reasons why “bad things happen to both good and bad
people.”
So, some key words here are: KNOW IT, BELIEVE IT, ACT ON IT AND RECEIVE IT. God has offered all in His Word to you. But if you don’t know that, you will not
enter into it. You may believe other
things that are outside the Word of God, and you will be guaranteed to enter
into needless problems, hurt, harm, and trouble.
Without the knowledge of God, you will believe the things
you have heard through so called “religious circles; that God sometimes sends
tragedy to teach you and make you stronger.
This will seem right to you, BUT IT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS NOT WHAT GODS WORD SAYS.
