WHO ARE YOU?
Today
I want to talk to you about “Who Are You?” in your Christian walk and why. Where do you fit in the verse of Scripture
that says, “the people who know their God will be strong and do exploits?”
Go
with me to Deuteronomy 30:19 and 20. I
am using either the Amplified Bible here, or the Spirit Filled Life Bible.
God
says here, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have
set before you LIFE AND DEATH, BLESSING AND CURSING; therefore CHOOSE LIFE that
both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God,
that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life
and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord
swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
God
tells us here that he has given each one of us the opportunity to choose for
ourselves, and to live life and with blessing, and/or death and cursing, to not
only affect our lives, but the lives of the descendants from us, e.g. our
children, grandchildren, great and great-great ----and so on.
It would seem from that verse and option given
to each one of us by God Himself, that our lives
represent tonight individually, the sum total of all of the choices made by
those in each one of our genealogies, plus our own personal choices.
These
choices made by all the people, Christian or not, knowingly or unknowingly,
including our own choices up to our present age, have
brought us to our present lifestyle.
Before
we became born-again children of God, we made choices according to the world’s
way of doing things, being affected by what the Bible calls the Law of Sin and
Death. It is referred to in Romans
8:2. The people in the generations
before us made like choices, all of which affect us one way or another
today. (Look at this verse)
Some
of you reading this have very good lives.
Some of you don’t have it so good, and some of
you have suffered terrible abuse at the hands of others.
When
you received the Lord as your personal savior, you no longer live now under the
Law of Sin and of Death. Romans 8:2
tells you that, “the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, has made you FREE
from the law of sin and death.
In
the book of Ephesians, chapter 2, beginning with verse 1, we begin to see “Who
We Are” under the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. These verses show us the progression of being
taken out from underneath the law of sin and death to a new law and a new
kingdom, that being the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. This is for
us now, in our present life.
It
says here, chapter 2, verse 1 through 7, “And you He made alive, who were dead
in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of
this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now
works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. (Under the Law of Sin and of Death). We had a different “mindset” under that
law. Romans 12:2 tells
us what we are to do now. Go there please.
So
having found that out, we return to Ephesians which says:
BUT
GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace, the operation of God’s power on our behalf, you have been saved, and
raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ
Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace
in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
So,
having brought that information out, the fact that we have been transferred to
a different Kingdom, that being the Kingdom of God, out of the Kingdom of satan, WHO ARE WE NOW?
I’m
going to give you several advantages that God has provided for you under the
Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, otherwise known as the Perfect Law
of Liberty, against which there is no law, e.g. the law of sin and death.
When
you know these, you can learn to make the choices from the Word of God that will
bring you through the process to make your life one of forgiveness, fullness
and well-being.
God
tells us in Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you which
was in Christ Jesus.” We are to think
like the Lord thinks – this verse just told us so. You are the understood person here, so it is
up to you, once again to make a choice to do so, or not do so. Choose life and blessing, or by not doing so,
you choose cursing and death.

HERE’S
THE GOOD PART –
I’ll
give you a few words associated with each verse – the rest is up to you. Look up these verses,
meditate on them, making new choices now learning “who you have become, as a
Christian man, woman, or child.” I
will guarantee that if you will read these verses, meditate on them, and ask
the Holy Spirit to give you revelation knowledge about how they apply to your life, your life will never be the same again.

So
now, after seeing what God has said about who you are, and what you do, will
you still choose to be led by your psychology (soul-mind, will and emotions-the
“I think part of me”) or will you learn to be a son or daughter of God and who
you are as such, according to what God says about it, and how He wants you to think
about it.

you would like an extensive list of who you are as
shown in the Bible, please email me, and I will see you have a complete list.
