GODLY FATHERS HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES!
Fathers, you have the responsibility to minister love to your
wives and children. John 3:16 shows us
how to minister our best love. Show
your children how to love by letting them see how you love their mother.
You have the responsibility to guard your children . . .
physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Pray always to keep them surrounded by God’s angels and in divine
safety.
You have the responsibility to guide your children. Help them to choose the best friends; choose
the best avenue of schooling; the right job; and Godly activities. Children are not to make their own decisions
until they are mature in the spirit. If
you are paying their bills, you should continue to counsel. You cannot stop being a parent simply
because your child becomes 18 years old.
God gives you wisdom to counsel and help them all the days of your life.
You have a responsibility to encourage your children and your
wife. Speaking uplifting, not demeaning
words to them. Life and death are in the power of your tongue, do not kill your
children . . . speak life into them every day.
You have a responsibility to correct and discipline your children. If you withhold correction or punishment,
you do not love your children. Do it
properly, with love, not abuse. Correct
your children’s attitudes, don’t let rebellion have a foothold. Obedience is Godly . . . when a person obeys
his earthly father, he will also obey his Heavenly Father. You are making an adult of this small child
. . . what kind do you want them to be?
It’s up to you!
You have the responsibility to provide for your family. Those who do not are worse than
heathen. This does not mean you must be
forced into working 12 hours a day, because then you lose time with your
family. Tithe from what you earn and do
your best while praying for wisdom from the Father, and He will help you.
You have a responsibility to train your children. Teach them Godly proverbs and
principles. Training is showing,
telling, instructing, and then overseeing their progress.
ALL OF THE ABOVE TAKES AN
INVESTMENT OF TIME!
Sadly, American fathers average 36 seconds of quality time with
their child per day.
