IS JESUS REALLY COMING?
Missionary Pat Bates,
The second coming of Jesus is the single most
prophesied event in the bible.
§
There are 260 chapters in the New
Testament.
§
There are over 300 references of
this event in the New Testament alone!
ARE
YOU TOO BUSY TO BE CONCERNED?
Luke 10:38-42 -
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to
But the Lord said to her,
“My dear Martha, you are so upset over all these little details! There is really only one thing worth being
concerned about. Mary has discovered it
– and I won’t take it away from her.”
If
you get so bound up in the daily affairs of this world and the small details of
daily living, you will not be prepared for His coming!!! Don’t be guilty of being so busy that you
forget God and His commands and teachings.
Let’s look at some of the
scriptures that tell us about His coming:
HIS COMING IS FORETOLD:
Matt.
26:64 “Yes”, Jesus said, “I am. And in the future
you will see me, the Messiah, sitting at the right hand of God and returning on
the clouds of heaven.”
Luke
Acts
THE TIME IS UNKNOWN:
Matt.
24:36 But no one knows the day or
the hour when the end will be – not even the angels. No, not even God’s Son. Only the Father knows.
Matt.
25:1-13 “The Kingdom of heaven can
be illustrated by the story of ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to
meet the bridegroom. But only 5 of them
were wise enough to fill their lamps with oil, while the other five were
foolish and forgot. “So, when the
bridegroom was delayed, they lay down to rest until
All the girls jumped up
and trimmed their lamps. Then the five
who hadn’t any oil begged the others to share with them, for their lamps were
going out. But the others replied, “We
haven’t enough. Go instead to the shops
and buy some for yourselves.’ But while
they were gone, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him
to the marriage feast, and the door was locked.
“Later, when the other
returned, they stood outside, calling “Sir, open the door for us!” But he called back, “Go away, it’s too
late.” So stay awake and be prepared, for you do not know the date or moment of
my return.”
Luke
Rev.
16:15 “Take note: I will come as
unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are awaiting me, who keep their robes in
readiness and will not need to walk naked and ashamed.”
TIME IS NEAR AT HAND:
Heb.
Phil.
4:5 Let everyone see that you
are unselfish and considerate in all you do.
Remember that the Lord is coming soon!
James
5:8 Yes, be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord
is near.
Rev.
3:11 “Look, I am coming
soon! Hold tightly to the little
strength you have – so that no one will take away your crown.”
Rev.
22:6 Then the angel said to me,
“These words are trustworthy and true: ‘I am coming soon!’ God, who tells his
prophets what the future holds, has sent his angel to tell you this will happen
soon. Blessed are those who believe it
and all else written in the scroll.
Rev.
22:20 “He who has said all these
things declares: “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come Lord Jesus!
REMEMBER
THAT 1 DAY IN HEAVEN IS 1000 YEARS HERE ON EARTH – HE HAS ONLY BEEN GONE A
LITTLE OVER 2 DAYS!!!!!
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE:
Matt.
Matt.
25:31-32 “But when I, the Messiah,
shall come in my glory, and all the angels with me, then I shall sit upon my
throne of glory. And all the nations
shall be gathered before me. And I shall
separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
1
Cor. 4:5 So be careful not to jump
to conclusions before the Lord returns as to whether someone is a good servant
or not. When the Lord comes, he will
turn on the light so that everyone can see exactly what each one of us is
really like, deep down in our hearts.
Then everyone will know why we have been doing the Lord’s work. At that time God will give to each one
whatever praise is coming to him.
2
Tim. 4:1-3 And so I solemnly urge
you before God and before Christ Jesus – who will someday judge the living and
the dead when He appears to set up His kingdom - to preach the Word of God urgently at all
times, whenever you get the chance, in season and out, when it is convenient
and when it is not. Correct and rebuke
your people when they need it, encourage them to do right, and all the time be
feeding them patiently with God’s Word.
For there is going to come a time when people won’t listen to the truth,
but will go around looking for teachers who will tell them just what they want
to hear.
Jude
1:14-15 Enoch, who lived seven
generations after Adam, knew about these men and said this about them: “See,
the Lord is coming with millions of his holy ones. He will bring the people of the world before
him in judgment, to receive just punishment and to prove the terrible things
they have done in rebellion against God, revealing all they have said against
Him.”

WARNINGS
TO THE WICKED:
Matt
24:30 “And then at last the

(of the unsaved) all around the earth.
And the nations of the world will see me arrive in the clouds of heaven,
with power and great glory.”

message in these days of unbelief and sin, I the Messiah, will be ashamed of
him when I return in the glory of my Father,
with the holy angels.”
Luke
21:25-27 “Then there will be strange events in the
skies – warnings, evil omens and portents in the sun, moon and stars; and down
there on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas
and strange tides. The courage of many
will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, for the
stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then the peoples of the earth shall see me,
the Messiah, coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
2
Thess. 1:7-9 And so I would say to you
who are suffering, God will give you rest along with us then the Lord Jesus
appears suddenly from heaven in flaming fire with his mighty angels, bringing
judgment on those who do not wish to know God and who refuse to accept His plan
to save them through our Lord Jesus Christ.
They will punished in everlasting hell, forever
separated from the Lord, never to see the glory of His power.
Rev.
1:7-8 See! He is arriving,
surrounded by clouds; and every eye shall see Him – Yes, and those who pierced
Him. And the nations will weep in sorrow
and in terror when He comes. Yes! Amen, Let it be so! “I am the A and the Z,
the beginning and the ending of all things,” says God, who is the Lord, the
All-powerful One, who is, and was, and is coming again!
Father God is a gentleman
. . . He will never force you to do anything against your will. BUT the Holy Ghost will get in your face
night and day to do what is right BECAUSE HE KNOWS GOD LOVES YOU!!!! He will motivate you to yield, surrender, give your all to Him and His service.
Don’t be deceived – we
are living in the Friday of the
last week of the church!!
There are only 2 events
left of the signs given in the Bible that must happen before He comes~
ü The
greatest harvest of souls in history (it is happening now)
ü Peace
in
Therefore, Son of Man, prophesy against Gog (
The
only reason that
THE ONLY THING THAT WILL HASTEN HIS COMING IS THE
WHOLE BODY OF CHRIST TO GET ON THEIR FACES AND PRAY.
Because
you wouldn’t take the time to get ready!
Watch
and be alert for our soon coming King!
This is the most important message of today – don’t
belittle it or ignore it – tell everyone you love! Our Lord is almost ready . . . are you?
