IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS!

We are living in historical times
not only for America, but for the entire world. Every day, we
now hear of tragic incidents that are taking place. It is easy to become
distraught, hopeless, and ungrateful during such events.
While observing the political and economical platform in America and
Europe, I came across a statement written by Viktor Frankl. He lived during World War II and was one of
the few Jews who survived the Nazi concentration camps. In his well-known book,
From Death-Camp to Existentialism, he makes the following statement, "It doesn't matter what we
expect from life, but rather what life expects from us... He who has a WHY
to live can bear with almost any HOW."
When speaking about those who were
with him in the camp he explains, "One
had to give them a why, an aim-for their lives in order to strengthen them to
bear the terrible how of their existence." Those are powerful words,
asserting true value when put to the test. In order to press through each day
of torture, he had to believe something is yet to be accomplished, the true
purpose for his life.
This holds truth for all of us. When faced with devastating obstacles
and adversities, the sense of our destiny in Christ can give us the courage and
strength to face the day. This month we have so many reasons to be thankful.
Let's not forget to express our gratitude toward those we love.
May we always find the way to live
and celebrate the life and hope that Christ came to give us.

Christmas

Truth
has come to the rescue
To
quench a desperate and thirsting soul.
Life
has been poured out
Exchanging
desperate anguish for hope.
True
love has been revealed
No
longer distant voice.
Emmanuel
- Christ with us,
Removed
the shame from our core.
He came
to live with us,
He
chose to dwell in us,
True
satisfaction and acceptance
Was
offered on the cross.
No more
meaningless existence,
The
shackles binding us
Have
been torn apart,
Through
Jesus there is no longer distance.
In
Christ, my soul has found its home
And
though my words are not enough,
My
heart still whispers
It
feels like Christmas...every day.
